Wednesday Night Fly Tying

Check out our Tying web page for details.

I am happy to announce that Wednesday night fly tying has a new home, and restarted as of January 19th. The new location is Dart Bowl at 5700 Grover Lane (just off Koening Ln or 2222, between Burnet and Lamar). The facility is outstanding and the staff there is very supportive.

For those of you that don’t know the format, the fly tying is a true roundtable format. Everyone shows and ties something different. These meetings are not structured lessons but a way for fly tiers in Austin to get together and exchange ideas. Everyone is welcome regardless of your skill level. Although these meetings are not lessons, you can always find someone willing to help if you need it. We will have extra tools and vises available if you just want to stop in and give it a try.

The Wednesday night group meets at Dart Bowl from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. There is food and drinks available at Dart’s outstanding restaurant and bar, and there is more than ample parking.

We are lucky to have Dart Bowl as our new home, and my thanks go out to Bill Stringer, AFF club member, for making this happen. Without him we would still be looking, Thanks Bill!

I hope you can all come out this Wednesday, and help us kick off the new fly tying season.
